Karla Connell

Purpose

I exclusively represent employees in employment law matters because they need a skilled, experienced trial lawyer to obtain justice for them  from   a jury after they have suffered discrimination, retaliation, harassment or any other wrongful action by their employers.

Growing up in a working-class neighborhood on Long Island, New York, I was blessed to have friends of all races, nationalities, and religions. My parents taught me  to treat all my classmates with dignity and respect,  whether in school, on the playing field, or on scout campouts.

Unfortunately, in today’s business world where employment decisions are now made and communicated based on AI,  technology and other non-human decision and  communication methods,  a significant number of executives and managers have lost sight of their  basic business  obligation to treat their employees as they wish to be treated. Oftentimes, our clients’ careers have been ruined by uncaring, unthinking supervisors.

The good news is that the Sanford law firm has the talent, experience, and resources to force employers to pay for their unlawful conduct.

Education

I attended a community college for two years and then graduated from  the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with academic honors. Cornell provided me with several internships where I learned how to represent employees.

I then attended the Hofstra School of Law on Long Island, where I majored in employment law. My Law School Dean and mentor  was a nationally known  employment  arbitrator. My class rank after my first year was 8 out of 270 law students.  I was invited to join the Hofstra Law  Review as an Editor.  During  my last  two years in law school  I worked part-time for the largest employment law firm in New York City.

Professional Activities

I have practiced employment law in New York, Georgia, and for the last 30 years Texas.

To date, my law practice has brought me to 43 states including Alaska and Hawaii.  Also,  I  have  represented clients in Canada, Mexico, and Puerto  Rico.

I am a member of the Texas State Bar and the  Dallas Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section.

Certification and Recognition

I am Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

I was inducted  to the Southwest Human Resource Conference Speaker Hall of Fame in recognition of the quality of my presentation skills and employment law advice.
